I remember laughing at my father when he would yell down the hall in the direction of my room, "Turn that music down!" I'll never forget it was a record of the Monkees. I was so mad when he called it that damn hippie music! Oh my brother made him pay when a few years later he was blasting David Bowie and The Rolling Stones. Daddy would tell my Mom he's give anything to hear the Monkees again. Haha. Payback can be hell on parents.
Once my daughter was blasting Salt 'N Peppa and All the hair bands of the nineties, even I was bemoaning the 60s and wishing I could once again hear those sweet songs of my youth. Now, thanks to YouTube and FaceBook the resurgence of the 60s is coming back strong.
I wanted to have a page where we could all add our love of the sounds and love of the life of a simpler time from our youth... the 1960s!
